Une Semaine À Paris - A Traveler's Guide With A Novel Twist.

"[Une Semaine A Paris is an] endlessly useful tool for beginning/intermediate French students as well as visitors to Paris" - About.com
"5 out of 5 stars"
"Top 8 French Travel Guides" pick

LAURA K.LAWLESS, FRENCH GUIDE AT ABOUT.COM
Une Semaine à Paris - A traveler's guide with a novel twist is an upbeat and endlessly useful tool for beginning/intermediate French students as well as visitors to Paris. The story follows a Canadian couple, Thomas and Angela, as they make their way to and around Paris.[...] The fairly lengthy French dialogue in each chapter includes a great deal of useful, up-to-date vocabulary and expressions used in real-world situations, and the English translation runs alongside throughout the book in case you need assistance.
The English inserts at the end of each chapter include a wealth of practical information related to the subject of that chapter.

Review in the magazine "This City Paris" - May/June 2005

"Believable dialogues and quite a bit of travel information"

"Useful information for anyone traveling to France. If you are learning French, or your vocabulary has simply gotten rusty, this is a great book for you. "

"I highly recommend this book. The CDs are outstanding!"

"Une Semaine à Paris, a traveler's guide with a novel twist" is full of real-life situations and useful vocabulary. One learns how French people interact with each other in daily life plus the words and syntax they use to do so. The conversations are challenging to the adult learner and fun. Even the grammar exercises are enjoyable! The book is much more interesting than most French textbooks.
The CDs are outstanding. Camille has a clear, pleasant recording voice. I found them to be invaluable as a learning tool."

"This is a guide any traveler to Paris needs to have in their library."

"Recently I traveled again to Paris, and I took along Une Semaine a Paris. I found the CDs extremely useful, and because she doesn't read too fast, and the words never blur into one another as they often do on other language tapes, it was easy for me to repeat the phrases in French. The guide, with a "novel twist," is entertaining and I referred to it several times on my trip to Paris. This is a guide any traveler to Paris needs to have in their library. Listen to the CD, too, and watch how quickly your pronunciation improves."

"Even after living in Paris as a student [...] I have found that I consult the book when I plan my visits!"

"Even after living in Paris as a student, and visiting it several times as an adult, I have found that I consult the book when I plan my visits! Every chapter makes you feel as if you were there. Ahhh, Paris!"

"Thanks for such a wonderful resource and great suggestions"

I used "Une Semaine à Paris" for my last trip to Paris ; I was there last month with a friend, we stayed like Thomas and Angela in the Marais, and each day, we'll open the book and choose an activity. It was exactly what we needed. We particularly enjoyed the President Wilson market, with its delicious Falafel and beautiful clothings, followed by a lovely walk to la promenade plantée. We even copied the "chez le fromager" chapter and had a diner of cheese ! It was fantastic, thanks for such a wonderful resource and great suggestions.

"I love your book/CD"

Yes, I continue to LOVE your book/CD. I think it's so very good for both learning the language and learning about what to expect when one spends a week in Paris -- which I'm going to do in June, so it's perfect timing for
me.

"just the material I've been looking for"

Hello. Your books and cd's seem to be just the material i've been looking for. I'm 52 and had 3 years of high school french, but the emphasis was on grammar, reading, and writing. We hardly spoke french at all. I was planning to go to France this year. My wife had purchased some guidebooks for me. But then I ran across your website. I appreciate being able to sample so much material on your website. And i feel we should pay you back with purchasing your books and cd's. Thank you for putting together what seems to be a great and fun way to learn French. Sincerely.

À Moi Paris, Une Histoire Au Présent.

"...what makes this audiobook really stand out is the excellent quality sound files for each chapter..."

LAURA K.LAWLESS, FRENCH GUIDE AT ABOUT.COM
"The beginning- to low-intermediate-level audiobook À Moi Paris is a delightful story about a British girl studying in Paris. During the course of her stay, she makes friends with two French girls, goes shopping and to the movies, and even starts dating. The story is cute, but what makes this audiobook really stand out is the excellent quality sound files for each chapter which students will find very useful in developing their French ear. The author, Camille Chevalier, was kind enough to let me republish her book on my site, and the listening exercises I created from it are among the most popular on my site."

"The most fun way to learn French"

"I've used several French books, but A Moi Paris, une Histoire au Présent has been the most fun way to learn French."
Mark Hanson

"A Moi Paris, une Histoire au Présent is an amazing book..."

"A Moi Paris, une Histoire au Présent is an amazing book that shows you how French is really spoken. In addition, the situations are real and the vocabulary is useful and up to date. The text not only contains "in-context" grammar, but there are exercises and lots of vocabulary.
I enjoy reading and was having a hard time finding books I could understand, yet challenging enough, and not juvenile in its content. A Moi Paris, une Histoire au Présent fills that void. I can’t wait for Part II."

"A delight to work with"

Over the years I've purchased a number of recorded French comprehension courses of varying quality, some
of them giving poor value for the money spent, and others giving far more than their purchase price.
Camille's free audio book "A moi Paris" is clearly in the latter category. This wonderful free audio book
and accompanying PDF materials are clear and easy to understand, a delight to work with, and the equal of
many other courses with higher prices. Before spending another dollar on an audio book to improve your French comprehension, download Camille's book. You won't be sorry.

" I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their proficiency in French."

"A Moi Paris, une Histoire au Présent is a wonderful way to learn French within the context of an on-going story, making it enjoyable as well as educational. One learns how people in France inter-relate with one another informally, as well as how vocabulary is used in conversation (again within the context of the story) therefore making it more accessible and easier to learn and remember. I highly recommend this book and CDs to anyone who wants to improve their proficiency in French."

"the dialogue is brilliant... Camille has lots of imagination and is able to pitch her material just right."

"I have been learning French again after a gap of nearly forty years. I found the first book, A moi Paris, incredibly helpful and a wonderful free resource as Camille has very generously placed it on the Internet for free download. It was pitched at just the right level. I was able to understand almost everything just listening to it. The story line is fun, amusing at times and full of everyday French spoken in the way that French people speak. The dialogue of A Mois Paris is brilliant and I have listened to it many times over.
It is obvious that Camille has got lots of imagination and is able to pitch her material just right."

Merci encore!"
