5,6,8,10 LA GRANDE SURPRISE / PRIX
5,6,8,10 THE BIG SURPRISE / PRICES
So, you think you know everything about numbers. Well, I have a
last surprise for you, and it is a nasty one
Cinq, Six, Huit
and Dix loose their final consonant when followed by a consonant,
like cent, mille, francs, or minutes. Training on that part is essential
to achieve a correct pronunciation and understanding of prices.
As per francs, well like heure and mille, you have to add it to
your number, as if it were an ending. You can't breathe before !
If there is a comma, then say franc instead of virgule. Just like
heure.
And Pleeeease, when saying the word franc(s), drop the C and the
S ; it's not sausages we are talking about !!!
Good luck, and let me know if that was helpful. I love feedback
!
